"I'm much more me when I'm with you."

“Love is that condition in the human spirit so profound that it empowers us to develop courage; to trust that courage and build bridges with it; to trust those bridges and cross over them so we can attempt to reach each other.”
Maya Angelou

I have been married for almost 15 years now. It was an arranged marriage. I come from a very strict family. In my family girls were not allowed to step out of the house after 8 pm. I didn’t know anything much. I was not allowed to go to work.

But marriage changed my whole life. My husband helped me become independent. He helped me pursue my career. He encouraged me to fulfil my dream. I did my beautician course after my marriage and worked in abroad with my husband.

I used to do all my beauty experiments on my husband and he never seemed to have any problem with it. There was this time when I tried an experiment and it ended up in a funny way.

It was a Sunday afternoon. My husband was at home sleeping. I had just prepared and finished applying a facemask on my face and there was still some left. I went in my bedroom and saw my husband sleeping peacefully. One thing about my husband is, if he is in a deep sleep nothing can wake him up. So I decided to put the left over face pack on my husband’s face.

After applying the facemask on his face, I went to have bath. He was still sleeping. The door bell rang. It rang multiple times. My husband woke up and opened the door. He didn’t realized that he had a facepack applied on his face.

It was the courier guy. I think the guy felt like laughing looking at my husband and my husband didn’t realize why. He shouted at the courier guy. Just then I came out and I told my husband to go wash his face. He was shocked and embarrassed when he looked at himself in the mirror. I couldn’t stop laughing after the courier guy left. Of course I apologized to both of them (the courier guy and my husband).

Till this day whenever I remind my husband about that incident, he laughs. I have been given strict warnings to not do any experiments on his face when he is asleep or when he is not aware.

There have been so many situations where my first time experiments have gone wrong. But no matter what, my husband has always encouraged me.
