Previously, years back, it was very common to hear that a girl has to grow up to be a housewife whereas a man would go to work. But, that’s not the case now. With feminism and all the other equality campaigns, women are fighting to be on the same level as men. Throughout many decades women have been struggling to be equal to men, both at home and in the work place. Women have come a long way and have succeeded to gain equality in many aspects and fields.

Gender roles are very important in our society especially in our households. They have become important in life from birth, and society continues to push these gender roles. The treatment of the male gender is very different from that of the female, and this issue has become very important to me, as a woman. As children we learn and adapt to specific gender roles, and as we grow they become more evident and more important to our role in a society. There is a lot of discrimination against the female gender. Because of this discrimination, social mobility has been difficult, but is definitely changing to benefit women.

Let’s look into our houses. The women have to perform all the household work. Many of these women juggle both family and work responsibilities. Men on the other hand, only focus on their work life and earning money. They use their free time for recreational purposes or for resting. This creates an imbalance in the families.

Balance of Life lies when husband and wife walk shoulder to shoulder with each other in order to carry out beautiful journey called life. However, these words remain only quotes for generations. Men don’t perform even the simplest of the household activity. It is sad that 76% Men thing that laundry is women’s job and so is cleaning and cooking and even if they help it seems as favour not responsibility. As per Ariel’s statistics 76% Men feel that Laundry is Women’s job, but even remaining 24% Men can’t share the load of their wives.

The upbringing of our generations is one of the reasons for this inequality. Growing up, girls are well trained to juggle responsibilities both household and work whereas on the other hand boys only have to manage earning money. We need to break this stereotype.

Start with a simple thing as a laundry. Nowadays every house has a washing machine so it is even easier for men to handle laundry work and they don’t need to spend hours washing clothes manually in the bathroom heat.

When a husband understands that his wife is not the sole person responsible to do all the housework and tries to restore balance of life by helping his wife, he helps in breaking the household gender inequality. Such a kind of attitude can make a difference and may be after few year 100% men will share load of their wives.

Motherhood means giving life to a life unlived, it means dreaming of things yet undreamed, and sustaining hope in a hopeless world. Motherhood is the greatest gift God gave to womankind, to know that we are instruments in God’s Creation, to know that we participated in God’s purpose and plan.

“The hand of a bride becomes the hand of a mother. Ever so gently she cares for her precious child. Bathing, dressing, feeding, comforting—there is no hand like mothers. Nor does its tender care diminish through the years.” —Thomas S. Monson
Nature is only the word which is responsible for the creation of this world & mankind. Nature has given us everything which is needed for the survival of the living beings on this earth.

But are taking good care of nature? "NO”.

It is our moral duty to preserve this nature. Not only moral duty but also national duty to protect it. Many acts, assignments & projects have been passed but it seems that no one is bothered about it.

People used to cut down trees for building various items from wood. There are also not certain arrangements made for controlling forest fires and due to these the percentage of forests are decreasing.

This all factors lead to global warming and acid rains. According to earlier views of scientists life will be impossible on this planet. Due to global warming the ice of different regions are started melting and are turning into rivers.

Because of this the holes are created in ozone layer due to which the UV (ultra-violet) rays are introduced which can cause great destruction and also causes skin diseases and many other.

Saving the nature is a very important key in life. If we do not protect our home, we will eventually lose it. When we protect nature, we PRESERVE it for generations to come.

We need to take up measures to protect the nature and teach our children to do so too. Here are few ways:

1. Stopping Deforestation and Protecting Flora and Fauna

Protecting nature keeps the Eco-systems in balance. When we cut down the rain forest, less rain falls and the once very green area turns into a desert. Protecting nature keeps the flora (all plants, flowers and trees) from extinction, thereby saving precious earthly resources from dying forever.

2. Taking measures to reduce harmful gases and pollution

Protecting nature means reducing greenhouse gases so as to slow down and eventually prevent GLOBAL WARMING. Global warming, if it continues at the rate it is now growing will be a disaster for the world and life as we know it will not exist. It will be a catastrophe beyond human imagining.

3. Starting from home and teaching our children

We need to begin from our own houses. We should teach to use water and electricity with care and not take advantage of it. When brushing your teeth, remember to turn off the water because you share that with animals, plants, and other people. Teach your kids to appreciate their stuff and end the mindless consumerism. Encourage them to give trash a second change by making crafts out of recyclables. Help kids understand where food comes from and reveal the miracle of life through seeds. Reap the benefits of teaching your kids to garden.

Learning to respect natural resources and appreciate their importance, not only to you but to every other creature, is a lesson that can be extended all through life. The Earth is ours to share, so we want to leave it in good shape for the next users.

Protecting nature means to preserve it out of the respect for the life that lives within in. Remove nature and life is destroyed. We, as a human race, must consider the fact that if we do not preserve nature today, future generations will not be able to enjoy the benefits, the beauty, the wonder, the serenity, and the joy it brings to the hearts of people everywhere.

On 8th March, we will be celebrating International Women's day. It is a day to celebrate all the amazing things a woman does for this world and for her family. A woman makes a lot of sacrifices when she gets married and moves in with her husband.

Every relationship is different and each couple is unique and special. Every person expects something before getting in a relationship.

But there are some common things all women want from their #SadaSexy partners. Most of the time men don't realize what their wives or their girlfriends want. A woman really doesn’t want much from a man.

Here is a list of the promises a woman wants you to make:-

15 years ago, in August, I exchanged rings with a young man. We made vows to each other saying that we will be with each other and support each other through all the good and bad times, through all the ups and downs, through sick times and during good health.

In the previous post I had highlighted my experience of how I got my husband to #Sharetheload at home. In this post I will be telling you all some more wonderful stories and messages shared with me by some of my customers.

https://static1.squarespace.com/static/553d90a9e4b0b45c07754107/t/5558a2c6e4b0cc5c1ee179fb/1438040335948/?format=1500w
“I promise to be with you, in good times and in bad times, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life.”

These are the vows a couple takes when they get married. But unfortunately, these vows remain only some random words for the rest of the life of the couple.

When it comes to sharing the house work, it’s the responsibility of the wife only. My husband & I are both working. We share on all our financial responsibility. But when it comes to household responsibilities, it’s only me.

Many men won't do house hold chores. And it’s always the woman juggling between house and office work. I have to get up early to prepare food for the day while my husband sleeps. I do some cleaning while my husband gets up and gets ready. While getting ready, he never seems to find anything, even though its right in front of his eyes. He will call my name like a thousand times and keep asking where his stuff his. He will get ready, eat his breakfast and leave for work.

I have to wash the utensils, fill water, cook food and then leave the house for work. When we get back, my husband removes his shoes and socks and throws them here and there like a child and goes to have bath. I have to keep everything in place, heat the food and do the remaining housework. My husband comes out after having bath, puts on TV and watches some match or some other show while I work. If I ask him to help out, he has excuses ready.

Is house work only a woman’s job?

Is it not a man’s job?

Here are some reasons why some men don't do chores:

1. They weren't taught by their parents and are utterly unsure of what to do.

2. They are simply used to scenario where all the men sit back around the table and the women busily work and clean the dishes without being told. These are roles that have related to gender for a long time, for better or worse.

3. They feel they did their part to go out and make money, and the house is a girly form of a job.

But this is not right. Recently I did an experiment, where I told my husband I wash not feeling good and tricked him in doing some household chores. He actually seemed to enjoy this. Somewhere I think he realised how tiring it gets and felt bad for putting the whole household pressure on one person.

From that day on he helps me in doing some little tasks like washing some utensils, keeping his things in place, doing laundry, etc.

Hope this lasts long!Let's set a wonderful example in front of our children. Ariel has come up with an amazing initiative. Check out this video.

Being a woman means getting ready to being judged.

Every time an actress does an interview and reporters ask her about her weight / clothing / appearance while they ask her male co-star about his thoughts on character and if he wants to direct some day.

Every time a magazine subjects a woman to dramatic amounts of figure reshaping and "flaw fixing" before her photo can be in the magazine. Every time successful middle aged men kick back and talk to all their friends about 'trading in' for a 'newer model'.

Every time we decide that it's an acceptable business practice to require waitresses to wear short skirts or shorts and low cut / tight tops while men wear pants and shirts. Every time a mother tells her daughter "you'll never get a man looking like that".

Why are women judged more on their appearance?

Because, our society is misogynistic. Because women are taught from the earliest age that they are judged by their appearance and all genders are taught that it's normal and even desirable to judge a woman by her appearance.

Most of the time, the people who judge us are our near and dear ones. This is a story about one of my friend.

Pooja (name changed) was a brilliant and smart girl. She was my neighbour. Her father was a street vegetable vendor and her mother was a house maid. Both were illiterate. They worked hard so that Pooja could become a graduate. Pooja’s dressing attire was very simple. She preferred wearing salwars and always tied her hair in a braid.

She topped her class in every exam and she was one of the top three students in her department when she graduated. When Pooja got a call for a job interview in one of the leading multinational companies, she was very much excited. It was for the position of a personal assistant. The pay was good.

She wore a new salwar kammej for her job interview. When she reached there, she cleared all the rounds in the interview. But she was rejected in the final round. Because of her looks. She wore simple attire. She had not put on too much make up or anything. The person who was selected was wearing nice formal skirt and top and had a little make up on.

This incident disheartened Pooja. But she never gave up. She applied in another company where she got selected and was offered even a bigger pay package. Today she is a successful woman. Last year she married a wealthy man. She told me that the old company tried to poach her but she rejected them.

She believed in herself and didn’t change for anyone. She stayed who she was. She broke the stereotype.

“I’m breaking stereotypes based on appearance by sharing my experience for the #IAmCapable activity at BlogAdda in association with Nihar Naturals.”

Stereotypes are a part of our everyday life. We hear stereotypes every day and everywhere. Sometimes we can find ourselves in a situation where we make stereotypes for a large group of people. Every person, young or old, is labelled with either positive or negative stereotypes.
But the biggest victim of this disease is women. Women are judged in everything they do, no matter if it’s good or bad. They are judged on how they look and what they wear. There is no winning for women.

Take a look at some of the startling figures that the Nihar Naturals #IAmCapable survey conducted by Nielsen India reveals:

a. 69% of men agree that their judgement of women is based on their looks.

b. 64% of women agree that the judgments passed on them have affected their ability to reach their true potential.

c. 70%of women agree that majority of judgments on women are from family members or friends rather than strangers.

d. 72% of women agree that working women face more judgments on their looks or their clothes than housewives.

When I was a child, I was a little overweight or in better words, I was a healthy child. Growing up I lost weight and became thin. My family condition was not that well to do and hence I had to drop out of school to support my family. I studied till 8th STD and then started taking tuitions at home.

I used to take tuitions for 6 hours at a stretch. Because of this I gained weight and got on the heavier side again. I come from a very reserved family and I was not allowed to stay out late. Actually the crowd around my residence was a very bad one and hence I was not even allowed to go out to the market during the day time.

When it was time for me to get married, my parents told some of our relatives to look for a boy for me. But my relatives started passing judgement. They said I was a very homely girl and men want wives that work. They said I was overweight and nobody wants to marry an overweight girl. Every boy who would come with a proposal who judge me based on my looks. Yes, I may have been fat or homely but I was an amazing cook and an amazing teacher. But none of that mattered. I was judged so much that at one particular time I felt like running away and never coming back. But I didn’t.

I accepted myself the way I am. And I felt happy about whoever i was and however I looked. I met a wonderful man who helped me grow. After my marriage, I enrolled to do a beautician course. I have worked under so many highly professional beauty experts from the globe. Today I am running my own business.

If I would have left all the judging pull me down, I would have never become what I am today. Every day when I wake up, I feel strong and powerful. You need to aim beyond what you are capable of. You must develop a complete disregard for where your abilities end. Try to do things that you think you're incapable of... If you think you're incapable of running a company, make that your aim... Make your vision of where you want to be a reality. Nothing is impossible. You are capable of doing so much. Don’t let someone else’s comments pull you down.
